What a Russian patent certificate establishes

A patent certificate is an important source document, but it answers a limited set of questions. It should sit beside the publication, claims, drawings, registry record and engineering evidence, rather than stand in for them.

Questions a certificate does not answer by itself

A certificate image alone does not confirm current legal status, claim scope, technical performance or commercial value. Those questions require primary registry records and separate technical, legal or valuation work.
